With Nextanalytics, it's easy to analyze the top ten in interesting and unique ways.

Query the database

Nextanalytics submits the query to the server. Due to Nextanalytics' ability to perform text-substitution in the SQL Where clause, the SQL filter the result set to an area of interest.

The query in this example returns all the product groups in a sorted list.  It's easy to filter this to become the Top 10, many products can do this.

With Nextanalytics, it would be only a few additional clicks to append the sum or the average of the rows which were not in the Top 10 i.e. "OTHER".

With the "OTHER" row, one can select some interesting options:

  • Show these (11 rows) as a percent of the overall sum or overall average.
  • Show OTHER as a percent of the sum of the Top 10
  • Show the "sum of the top 10" as a percent of "OTHER"
  • Show each of the top 10 as a percent of "OTHER" or "total"
  • Show OTHER as a percent of "total"
  • imagination is your only limitation, pretty well any combination is just a few clicks away.

Being able to add OTHER as an average makes for a more useful pie chart of these results.

Database supplied by Kognitio

This example was built on top of the Kognitio WX2 database, using their retail store demo. The Kognitio WX2 database can perform complex queries against a very large dataset and return the results very quickly. When coupled with Nextanalytics, the query result can be further processed and viewed in a wide variety of customizable and useful ways.

These examples demonstrate how Nextanalytics can leverage the power of the Kognitio WX2 database to deliver a complete high speed analytical solution. They are provided as an introduction to some of the things that can be done, even when working from a very large dataset with 11 billion records.  Everything you see is extensible and customizable.
