Add-in Disappeared?

First, try rebooting your computer to see if it comes back. Excel processes sometimes get 'stuck' in memory, preventing the proper start-up of any add-ins.

Sometimes Excel will lock out an individual Add-in if you shut it down before it is finished doing something. Make sure you follow the step-by-step instructions to re-enable an add-in, copied below. Many people do not notice the "Disabled Items" in the drop-down list because you may have to scroll it down to see it, and they bypass the critical first step. There is no checkbox in this first step, so if you are seeing a checkbox, you are in the wrong place.

  • Click the Excel/Office button (upper left round button), select Excel options
  • Click the File menu, select Options - select Add-ins
  • in the drop-down at the bottom, Manage: Disabled items, and click the Go... button
  • NextanalyticsForExcel should be NOT listed. If it is, select it and click Enable.

After that step has been completed, then you can go to the COM add-ins section and check the box to enable the add-in. If you don't do the above step first, checking the box will have no effect.

  • Click the Excel/Office button (upper left round button), select Excel options
  • select Add-ins
  • in the drop-down at the bottom, Manage: Com Add-ins, and click the Go... button
  • NextanalyticsForExcel should be listed and it needs to be checked. Click OK when you are done.
