Pivot by date

You should see the first 10 rows of a transactions file. With a couple of menu selections below, you can get a sorted list of the top salespeople.

Arrange - Create Crosstab - Month - OK
Arrange - Sort Rows - 12/06 Descending - OK
Layout - Rename Page Title
and enter a Title of 'Sales', OK

Calculate growth

From our Sales page in the previous example, we'll find the salesperson with the fastest growing sales.

Calculate - Growth
Arrange - Sort Rows - 12/06 Descending - OK
Layout - Rename Page Title
and enter a Title of 'Growth', OK

Regional sales

From our Sales page in the earlier example, we'll find the regional sales total for the same periods.

Select the 'Sales' page from the dropdown at the top right
Distribution - Combine Sub-Group - Region - Sum - OK
Alert - Alert by comparing to Axis - Same Page - Page - Average - 0 - As Percent - Default - OK
Layout - Rename Page Title
enter Title 'Regional Sales', OK

Highlight Top 10

Let's use nextanalytics' alert capabilities to highlight when a salesperson has been in the top 10 in previous months.

Normalize - Rank values - Down each column - OK
Layout - Rename Page Title
and enter a Title of 'Rank', OK
Select the 'Sales' page from the dropdown at the top right
Alert - Alert by Cell Value - select 'Rank' page - select color theme '1 to 10 with heat image' - OK

The top salesperson in each period is colored deep orange, the 10th is deep blue. If they were not in the top 10, they remain white.
