Compare to a baseline
With nextanalytics, testing against a baseline is a very powerful capability. Baselines can be set to almost any row, and the comparison is on a column-by-column basis.

Load the sales data

Script
  1. adddata , actuals.csv

This is a sample crosstab which will allow us to demonstrate how useful baseline testing can be. The following shows what can be done with only a few lines of scripting.

Set and compare to a baseline

Script (continued)
  1. sort,Last,True
  2. selectrange,row,0,20
  3. combine,Row,Average,SelectedDefaultToAll,Remove,Keep,Top 20,false
  4. select,row,first

  8. Test,Top 20,LessThan,0,GreaterThan,6,0,False,False,False,True,,True, Below,True,Performance Threshold,False
  9. ;--------------
  10. select,column,Last
  11. assignwordstovalues,false,~~Below average more than six times!~~~~~~~~~, 1,Performance Threshold,
  12. unselect,column,Last

Sort on the last column and then grab the top 20 rows. Compute an average and set that as the baseline.  Go back to the first page and test the values there against the baseline. Finally, substitute words into the last column to provide more meaning to the report.
